Our story

Like many Australians curious about investing in physical gold, comparing prices meant bouncing between half a dozen dealer websites, opening multiple tabs, and manually comparing prices that changed by the hour. There was no single place to see all Australian bullion dealer prices side by side — so we built one.

CompareGold.com.au automatically collects buy and sell prices from major Australian gold dealers three times a day, stores them in a database, and presents them in a clean comparison table. No account required. Just prices.

What we track

We track all major gold product categories — including 1oz bars, 1oz coins, 10g bars, 100g bars, and more — across all listed dealers. Use the product filter on the comparison table to browse by category.

For each product we show two prices:

  • Buy Price— what you pay to purchase gold from the dealer (this is the dealer’s sell price / ask price)
  • Sell Price— what you receive when selling gold back to the dealer (this is the dealer’s buy price / bid price)

The difference between the two is the spread— the dealer’s margin. A tighter spread means lower round-trip cost if you later sell back.

Tracked dealers

We track top Australian gold companies such as ABC Bullion, Perth Mint, Ainslie Bullion, Gold Stackers, Australian Bullion Company, and more.

Data freshness

Prices are updated three times a day — at 9am, 12pm, and 5pm Australian Eastern Time (AEST). Because gold prices move continuously, the prices shown may not reflect the exact live price at any given moment. Always verify the final price with the dealer before purchasing.

Limitations

  • We only track the specific products listed above. Specialty coins, numismatics, and silver are not covered.
  • Prices are sourced from dealer websites and may occasionally be incorrect if a dealer changes their website layout.
  • We do not account for minimum order quantities, freight charges, or payment method surcharges.
  • CompareGold.com.au is not affiliated with any dealer listed on this site.
